Window Wizard

As we don't have a window cleaner and we don't like climbing ladders I have been trying to find an easy way of cleaning our windows myself. The other day I came across an advert on TV for a gadget called a Window Wizard from a company called Pitchwell. It is basically a window cleaner that is in two halves. You wash your windows from the inside normally, but you stick the second half on the outside magnetically and it is supposed to follow the inner one round thus cleaning your windows. I just wondered if anyone has one of these and if they are any good, or if they are just one of these gimmicky things that fail to work when you get them. As it is nearly �30 I don't want to get one if they are rubbish, as I don't think that you can get your money back if you have used it.

I can see some potential problems with that. They make similar ones for fish tanks. They wont go round corners/across to the next pane. If you take the inside one off by accident, the outer one will fall to the floor. Without a look at the product I can't say how well I think it will work.

The only other way "barneyboo" is with extension poles.
This is not easy though, depending on the accessibility of the windows and the amount of space around your house.It's probably best to have two poles:1 for the applicator and the other for the squeegee.
Professional window cleaners using the pole system would have distilled water running through the pole/s because it doesn't smear but a D.I.Y. version is available from most do it yourself stores but for safety reasons they don't have water pumped through them.
You would have to use a bucket and some soapy water.

I had one of those a few years ago and it did the job of cleaning the outside of the windows quite well.

You do have to take it slow and easy until you get used to it and always tie the string to the outside one and to part of the window catch or frame so you do not drop it as I did when getting used to it.

I thought it was good and it did what it says on the box. The magnets on mine were very powerful.
