How can I get rid of tobacco smoke?
7 Answers
Our neighbours smoke and the smell from it comes through into our bathroom (through the floor I must add, not through a window). Try as I might with air fresheners etc etc, I cannot cover or rid the place of smoke which pervades into our bedroom. As we have heart problems and hubby recently had a minor stroke, we really need not to be breathing this smoke in, is there anything we can do to stop it smelling like it does? I'd love to have some answers on this as it's driving me mad.
Many thanks.

They make an anti tobacco one, made with extracts of orange and cloves. It comes in a blue tin.
The also make a 'chef's candle' made with extracts of basil, patchuli and geranium. It comes in a green tin.
They really do work. I use the chefs candle mostly, to get rid of kitchen smells.
Im not sure how widely available they are, but I think Ive seen them in the Lakeland catalogue, cost about 3.50.
I buy mine from a wholesaler.

Thanks ever so much for your replies. I had wondered about an ioniser but not sure they would work for that, now I know they do. Re the candles, I would love to try them but I'd have to leave them burning all day because the smoke comes through at anytime - i.e. early mornings, lunchtimes and late evenings... and I'm nervous of leaving them unattended. Just wish I could use them as I'm sure they would do the trick. Thanks again.

Unfortunately hockenc it isn't that simple... if hubby was smoking (which he doesn't), I could at least clip him round the ear and threaten him with divorce which naturally would stop him......sigh.
Smoke is still as bad as ever....... now if only I could get rid of the neighbours!
BTW - Ioniser doesn't work - I bought one!!
