My daughter spilled limeade on our carpet.

I've tried using Vanish carpet and upholstery stain remover, but it hasn't had any effect at all.

What could I use to shift this horrid green stain?

Have you tried contacting the manufacturers of the drink?

Sometimes they can be quite helpful and with their knowledge of the ingredients may be able to suggest something to remove the stain.

Tesco?

Bet they don't make it themselves. Who would?

I contacted Tesco (Customer Services).

They told me they couldn't help me.

They wouldn't tell me who makes the drink for them as it's company sensitive and then refused to find out the info I need from the manufacturer on my behalf.

Tesco :-(
I would try to find out a manufacturer of limeade and tell them it was theirs. I'm sure the ingredients, especially the colouring will be very similar.
Dusty - I wonder if soda water will work? I know they reccomend this for spilt red wine. Failing that, try any brand of washing machine ( liquid ) Good luck!

Some good suggestions :-)

I tried bicarbonate of soda in solution...which didn't work, and I've also tried vinegar, washing powder (not liquid), Vanish stain remover and Vax carpet cleaner.

The stain's still there, but it's now more yellowish than green!

Someone's suggested lemon juice to me, which I've yet to try, and I'll then try soda water and maybe then washing liquid.

Watch this space!
Hi
The only thing I have found that works is the original Oxy Clean Mix it with warm water put it in a spray bottle and apply to area it may take several attempts but it will dissolve the stain, Good Luck
It works for me.

Thanks, killer shark.

As you will have seen, our mishap occurred back in April.

In June, we could stand the sight of this unsightly mark no more and ripped up the carpet!
