Can memory foam toppings or mattresses be affected by the use of electric blankets?

Excessive heat will distort the cells that make up the foam. Some manufacturers say no - don't use an electric blanket, while others say yes - but it should be an overblanket, not an underblanket, and don't leave it on all night.
