We bought a Natuzzi sofa and the back cushions were detachable so the sofa went in sideways, I was worried to death though in case it didn't get through cos we live in flats as well so there was two doors to think about

Thanks for that, will check with the shop.
i have a sofa thats too big for the living room door and a large set of windows.my mate ,a chippy who has fitted many windows, had the centre section out in 30 seconds.15 minutes later the window was back in. scary really when you are shown how easy it is (burglars etc)
Less than a year ago we bought a 2 & 3 leather sofa set-up from DFS and just like tickled trout's the ends are detachable wirh a spanner.
The underneath covering has a purpose fitted zip so that one can get at the nuts inside in order to undo them.
Very clever idea and very practical.
The idea being that one can stand them upright on their ends (because they are now lower than the door frame height). It is this height that usually causes the problems.
Without the ends the effective depth is reduced sufficiently to make them manoeuverable around the door frame.
However all that said it doesn't help to have settees that are so deep that one can't sit back without having to use 3 cushions for support.
There are also specially made sizes designed for smaller living areas. Something like a mobile home springs to mind.
its really easy to get double glazed windows out......You have to do it from the inside, pop off the plastic surrounds and take out the pane of glass.....you might need a few people to help tho!!

(they go back in easy too. this is what we had to do to get our sofas in)

We have a three and two seater from Dfs. Ours are huge and a hallway was to narrow to fit them in.. But when DFS deliverd the delivery men took them apart and then fitted them up in my living room. Since then i moved them to another room and I have a mans number from DFS who took them apart and moved and fixed them up in another room for about 90. DFS were very helpful

Thanks so much, will go in to dfs and have a look.
we had an extra large soft leather three seater what would not go through door so we covered it in bubble wrap and taped it all up tight so the leather was squashed down and it went in easy
