my dishwaser ( a 21 year old neff) is coming to the end of its life
I am trying to buy a new one, but the hole where it fits (which is under my worksurface) will only take 82 cm.

It is not built in, as such, because the doors to the cupboard open like a door to a house, on the horizontal.

so basically although its covered up, i need a free stander.
all the ones i have looked at are 85cm, and to make things worse, i have go a plinth thing at the bottom of the work unit, therefore the door hinge needs to open above 5 inches high----if you know what i mean.

would love some help--ps , most dishwashers do not have adjustable feet, i have been to 5 shops today already!!

not sure about the dishwasher itself but i would go to the library to make model/brand comparisons.
however can you not cut the plinth to suit your dishwasher ?also all dishwashers need adjustment, they go in to the opening and then have a final small adjustment to lift the appliance hard under the worktop and modern ones now adjust the back "feet" from the front edge when in final position, they are so much easier than old machines.
they have to fit hard under the worktop to stop the counterbalance effect when you open the drawer/s loaded with crockery etc.
so you see they must adjust in some way, make sense?
ps library for which magazines
