How can I humidify my room without a humidifier?

I believe a small bowl of water left in the room will do the trick! xxx
Are you asking because you are using electric heaters? Warm air is harder to humidify than cold air so if a bowl of water is not enough than a wet towel hung over a piece of rope does a pretty good job.

It's for my dry eyes, I've left lots of bowls of water around and some damp cloths, thanks for the advice!
