job interview

I've applied for a job in a jewelery shop, it's mainly clerical but I'd be expected to learn on the shop floor about jewelery etc.... I've never done this before, although I do have retail experience (not involving jewelery though) - has anyone got any tips for me? How/what should I ask at the interview itself?

You could ask them what jewelery ranges they have, some have ranges that are quite exclusive i.e. clogau gold, aimed at children, celtic etc...

You could ask how much stock they have and how often do things need to be ordered in etc...?

Good to ask if there are any opportunities for overtime! They like that!

Well gold is bright and a bit yellowy and silver looks a bit like metal lol

I wouldnt even worry about it, I would imagine you would get trained on what you needed to know ;-)

I have been in this stiuation where I applied for a job in a jewelery shop and I haf retail experiance but not with jewelery.
All I did in my interview was ACT REALLY INTERESTED in jewelery and just ask questions about the different types of jewelery they sell.
I got offered the job a week later.
