We have a candle where the wax ran down the outside, filled up the (shallow) tray it was sittinging in, overflowed onto the shelf, then ran onto the floor. The wax then soaked into the carpet pile and dried! Does anyone please have any ideas on getting dried candle wax out of a carpet??

yep set it hard with a cube of ixe, scrape off the excess, then use brown paper and a warm (not hot) iron to soak up the dregs

thats why we are warned to watch a lit candle !
cube of 'ice' that should say
Place some kitchen towel roll on the carpet, then gently place a warm iron on top of the kitchen roll. The wax will melt and be absorbed by the paper. Good luck!
