not really, best to get some Hammerite paint and use a brush the old fashioned way.

Simon is right Hammerite is the best, I used it on a wrought iron TV stand, and it turned out really well. The only thing to remember is to have pretty well of surrounding air when you are working, as it does give off a quite strong smell, which is gone when the paint dries. It does become touch dry in about half an hour.
