When they moved into their house, it was a bit like Wuthering Heights and it was perishing cold. There were a couple of old beds in the attics so Dad chopped half of one of them up for firewood. He had a valuer round a few years later just doing a general valuation for insurance and this chap went mad when he saw this bed. Dad was gutted when he was told it was worth thousands and he had burnt half of it!

I had a slightly dodgy uncle (think Arthur Daley). I was once with him & my cousin at at a scrap yard of all places and I had my photo taken, sat on the knees of his two mates.
The "mates" were the Kray twins on a visit up North, and they sent me the photo (signed). and a doll. My dad went ballistic & burned the photo. I wonder if that would have been worth anything?

Ooh now that i have grandchildren would love my dolls house and rocking horse back. But for me i would dearly love some of my trendy clothing back especially as im the same size and all the fashions have returned, my daughters drool when i describe some of them, maybe not the catsuits though too risky at my age ;-)
