How do hotels keep towels so white? I bought some towels from a hotel supplier the same make as I had seen in a 5 star hotel we stayed in and after a few washes they look far from new. Does anyone know the secret? Is it the heat of the water or the detergent or just that they change them every few weeks?

If you go down to your local haberdashery shop and ask for something called lingerie whitener and use that on them it will bing them up really well. However i suspect that in hotels they are replaced often, either that or their industrial washing machines are impervious to greying whites! it might also work if you was them in a separate load from everything else and put your washing machine through an empty rinse cycle before you wash them :)

Thanks!
I have white bedsheets and bed linen and use the vanish stuff in the pink tub that goes in the washing machine, on each white wash.

Restored my sheets to bright white and keeps them white!
