Exterior Wooden Shutters For Windows.
Can anybody please recommend a company that sells these, mine desperately need replacing, I am in the York area, thank you.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I would seriously consider uPVC as an alternative to timber, Traci. Available in some colours, they don't look half so bad as uPVC products used to.
I always paint uPVC for a more natural look. No warping, rotting etc :o)

That's what you have to watch for, Traci. The better ones are certainly as rigid as timber.
With tall louvres, go for ones with a horizontal central rail. It gives them a lot more strength. Alternatively, consider solid ones. They will be stronger again.
We all like proper timber, but don't forget maintenance. As with windows, once you've let them go, they'll rot easily. uPVC doesn't suffer from that, but it's a matter personal choice.
