Planning Permission
I know there is a time limit for work to start once PP has been granted but once started, is there a time within which the work has to be completed? The house we bought 3 years ago had had substantial extensions built, with full documented PP, but the plans also allowed for other work which wasn't done, ie a double garage and conservatory. Someone has told us that once the work starts, there is no time limit and we could still build a double garage. I know planning rules have changed in the 10 years since PP was first granted, but does anyone know if the original is still valid?

Have a close look at the original consent. Check for any of the above. That's the only way you'll find out where you stand.
