Eviction From A Caravan Site (Not Travellers)
8 Answers
A friend of mine owns a caravan which he and his family have had for years on a caravan site. Recently, new owners have moved in and are introducing things that a lot of the "old regulars" have objected to. They barred one elderly couple from the clubhouse and the couple left the site, very upset.they had been there for years. One of the ways the others have objected is by boycotting the clubhouse. My friend said that all those involved in the boycott have been barred from the clubhouse! Now he has just learned they are to be evicted off the site. Would he have any rights to stay. The caravan is theirs and they pay rent to have it sited at this park.
Any advice I can pass on to him? Thank you.

They have 2 little boys 8 and 6 who LOVE their caravan. It's the 2nd generation there. They visit every weekend. No doubt I'll get more info, but at the minute I don't think I want to question them. I'll try tomorrow. Thank you for replying so quickly.
As you say they pay rent, they do not own. But that said there are rules/laws about what an owner can and can not do. Your friend wants to form a committee with other residents and get advice on where the owners are pushing their luck and what they can change. Not every owner is a good one (nor indeed is every resident) some new owners will have invested expecting to turn things around and make a quick fortune, but there are limits.
do they have any friends that are members of the caravan club they may be able to get expert advice
