i just recently done a job in london and it was a nightmare to drive around, necxt time i will not be taking my car . accomodation was expensive . a small budget hotel in peckham was 170 per night, a double room in stratford is around 150 per week .

since i will be working in london in future i will need to start thinking of where im going to live and should i make a permanent move there as i wil never be out of work. i may even start renting my own studio flat somewhere.

so move where ? i like somewhere south london , i liked the feel of peckham though its too expensive to rent. so any of you who know london where is good for getting around on underground etc plus cheapish to live i know nowhere in london is cheap but you know what i mean.

it really depends where you are. If your accommodation is at one end of town and your work is at the other, then even public transport can take up to an hour each way (and don't even think of driving). Try to figure out first where you're most likely to be most often, then house-hunt accordingly.

I think you'll find it difficult to find anywhere to rent for under £150 pw including council tax, utilities etc

Click on the map to see the postcode and borough. South of the river you're probably looking at SE8 (Lewisham) or SE10 (Greenwich), which are both shaded green or, even cheaper, SE23 (Lewisham). North of the river E9 (Hackney) is green and E10 (Waltham Forest) is blue. (I've only mentioned areas on the east side of London because that's where your posts seem to have referred to).
