Electrical Survey

Good morning , I’m selling my house and the vendors are having an electrical survey there are some things That I know arent correct i.e. plug sockets in the bathroom but I’ve put blanking caps on them now, it is a Victorian house and the main bathroom was once a bedroom but I also have pea lights wired in to the ceiling light and more than one cable wired in to ceiling roses , I would put this back to a single fitting when I have exchanged but don’t want to do it now before I know I am selling , or could this just cause problems with the report ?

It depends on the size of your bathroom and whether the sockets are outside the zones as to whether they're legal.

I can't answer your question re the report, but I'd have thought that at the very least it would be noted.

IMO might pay you to get an electrician to check it out and quote a figure to correct anything that's wrong.

Get the report done yourself and put right any defects or at least any code 1 and 2 faults.The buyers electrician is working for them and could load the costs in order to get you to reduce the asking/agreed price.

Sockets in a bathroom may be ok... but, only if they are at least 3 metres from the "zones"... and the bathroom circuits are protected by an RCD. If in doubt, remove the socket plates and fit these.....

The additional lights may also be ok as long as the correct size cable is fitted.

I think it's just as well to wait for the report, and deal with whatever is necessary then.
