Fence "dispute"
4 Answers
I moved into my current shared ownership home just over 3 years ago. Not ideal but I was in a situation with domestic abuse & needed a home. I'm in a nice mid terraced house. The garden fencing was in a state of disrepair but I didn't know which side I was responsible for so I contacted the housing association who replied with this info. I then went on to get a contractor to replace 6 panels. It now appears they were wrong with the info they gave me (I do still have the email I was sent at the time). When the strong winds arrived last week it took out my neighbour's fence & they have now been told by their neighbour (who has his deeds) that the damaged fence is in fact marked as mine. A quote of £750 has been mentioned for the work. Do I have any recompense from the housing association giving me the wrong information 2 plus years ago.

At the moment there's wooden fencing both sides of me as I'm mid terraced but as I said in my original post, I was informed wrongly by the housing association 2 plus years ago & not happy that I've paid out to have the fencing replaced when it wasn't mine! I will be speaking to the housing association tomorrow morning to see what they say. Thanks x
