How Much Does It Cost To Rent A Medium Size Bakery?
8 Answers
I'm thinking about renting a bakery and selling pastries and such. Can't afford to buy one. How much should it cost, more or less?
And how much does one pay, beside rent? There are other expanses?

Do you actually want to bake your own products or are you prepared to simply sell cakes (etc) that you've bought in? If you're baking your own stuff, do you want a shop where you can sell directly to the public or are you looking for a small bakery, possibly on an industrial site, from where you can sell your products wholesale to shops and/or cafés? Is it essential to you that the premises come pre-equipped with ovens and commercial catering equipment or would you consider renting a suitable shop (or whatever) and then installing your own equipment?
A shop that could be used as a bakery (but without the equipment), in a fairly 'downmarket' area, might cost less than £200 per week to rent. e.g.: https:/ /www.gu mtree.c om/p/co mmercia l-prope rty-to- rent/sh op-for- rent-hi gh-st-s eaham-% C2%A316 5-pw-ex -bakery -cafe-b ut-suit able-an y-retai l-busin ess/133 5883342
An established bakery business elsewhere might cost far more:

Remember that you'll have to pay business rates on top of the rent.
