morgage with ex!

please help
i have a two bed flat that i bought five years ago with my ex. we have two kids now which are great ..she was getting most of the morgage paid by the social and i payed her money each week for the kids . she has a new boyfreind living there .for the last two years fruard !.i now have a new girlfreind and we want to get a new morgage but i have been told that she does not have to take me of the old one . can i still get another morgage if my name is still on the old one ?and what share of the equity would i be iintitled to ? please help

Do the state really pay someones mortgage?

No, i'm guessing that the mortgage was in his name and she was claiming single parent benefit saying that he was just the landlord. My sister in law and her boyfriend did it until they had their house repossesed, it always comes back to bite you in the bum in the end!
