Downstairs cloakroom off the kitchen
2 Answers
We are having a kithen extension built with plans passed for a downstairs toilet installed which will be situated next to the kitchen the original plans had been passed with two doors , being one from the new kitchen extension then one into the cloakroom, the builder has suggested that the 'space' would work better only having one door into the new cloakroom, are there building regulations that we DO have to have two doors between toilet and kitchen ?

It used to be the case, because the old wording of Building Regs was unclear and BR Inspectors interpreted it to mean that was required. Now all you must have is a place to wash your hands in the cloakroom that contains a loo. (England & Wales BRs - not always the same in Scotland and NI)
