Does anyone know how you go about separating a plot of land from a property you are also selling - in other words sell land and house separately. Thanks Jean

I do.
The only way is to pick up the house by large crane and transport it somewhere else.
When you buy a 'house', what you are actually buying is the legal title to a plot of land. The house on it comes for free as part of the deal.
I may be wrong, but...

If you apply for outline planning permission on the land, can you not then sell the plot with the outline approval separately from the house?
In fact, I'm sure you can. Thats how people sell the ends of their gardens. Selling it with outline permission will also increase its value, though there is always the chance of your permission not being granted. Have there been other neighbours who have done the same?

Thank you emmagleb someone has suggested that this is the way to go about it.
Of course the Greg Clarkes "garden grabbing" bill is coming up for a second reading.

Were this to become law or be incorporated into the planning changes it would make it much harder to get planning permission for this sort of thing.
