Site Insurance
Am looking to find two or three insurance companies that provide site insurance for people who are building their own homes. Can anyone recommend some places?

I am in the same position, our first one, and coming up against lots of small problems. we did employ an architect/ designer, but after paying him 1300 and waiting months for something to happen we have got shot of him and will be taking him to the small claims court to try to get our money back. we have re-drawn the plans ourself and re-submitted them.anyway, we have made inroads into pricing and suppliers of block and beam floors, the water, sewerage, bricks, the rules and regs on vehicle turning and parking etc but we still need more info on certain things, such as the site insurance that you are asking about and the certificate of quality of build etc. it may be helpful if we can share our information and possibly help with each others building problems by e-mail. if you think this a good idea, post another message and I will give you my e-mail address.

hi, got away from the brokers and found that Zurich insurance do the site insurance. my latest quote was455. I think that included the house guarantee thing but am waiting for estimate to come through the post to confirm this. I am wondering if it is a legal thing to have site insurance or just an expensive precaution. I am sure someone will let us know,
