Bad Credit and Renting an Apartment
I am looking to rent a flat with a friend of mine but I am worried that my poor credit rating will affect us being accepted.
I lost my job, and my father died within the dpace of a year, and as a result i defaulted on payments. I am paying them of now under a debt management plan, have a well paid secure job. I earn 1200 a month after tax, and only 120 of that goes on paying my debts, then the rest of the money is mine to do as I please.
My friend is older, has rented before, and earns around 40k a year, we agreed between us that the rent would come out of her bank, and I'd pay her the 200 a month rent as soon as I get paid.
If I am honest with the agents from the start and explain how I have poor credit, but that Its under control and provide evidence of my income would we be considered for the apartment?
