Just a little note to say my lovely pup is on the mend - just a couple more days of tablets but the knee joint seems to be healing nicely.
He's starting to bounce around like tigger again and full of mischief. And Lottie - he managed to steal 2 socks from the washing basket today!! I wish he had got a matching pair tho!!!!
I am so pleased tho - its nice to see him back to his old self!!!
Yellowbeak has been waiting for me every morning on the fence for his apple and titbits! He's so funny - he tap dances up and down the fence until I appear with his goodies. Bold little blackie!!!
Hope you are all well - love to all your pets.
Best wishes xx :o)

I'm thrilled to hear that Pup is so much better, and up to sock stealing again.
More news on the swallows. Did you see Spring Watch where a 'batchelor' swallow came along and turfed all the chicks out of a 'married couples' nest in order that he could mate with the wife!! ? Well, I think that this might have been what happened to my original pair - apparently it's very common. See, even swallows have no morals whatsoever.
So it probably wasn't Woody after all, because he would have eaten the babies or fed them to his young. The babies were just injured and thrown out of the nest but not devoured.
Anyway, a new nest is being built on a ledge at the other site of the porch so it might well be the original wife with her lover!! I'm not sure I approve, but I will say nothing to them. I sincerely hope we get a new brood! This latest nest is less accessible and quite well hidden (as well as not being right above the front door!)
Hope to see you Alfie x
