energy prices

ok , want to swap energy companys as the price keeps going up
but i have heard all these comparing sites are not as good as they seem with some energy companys paying them to make they top of the list .....is this true
if so is there somwhere i can compare real prices

I recently changed my energy supplier via Simply Switch so I can get a free �35 Amazon voucher but reading up about the offer from other people who have switched using this site I may not get my voucher. This is the first month with Npower so I don't know if they're cheaper yet.

Yeah? I'm on a fixed charge per month but if Npower start asking for more then I'm off.

Well I think they're generally about the same. Try phoning up your current energy supplier, threaten to leave and they may be able to give you a better deal. If not then pick a supplier to go to that may be cheaper and if it turns out they're not then you can always change your supplier again. But I wouldn't suggest British Gas as they've caused me massive problems when I was with them a couple of years ago.
