Have you checked yourself out?
It's worth asking for a credit rating check for yourself if this is happening, companies like Experian only charge a few pounds and you would then be able to see if there is a black on your address because of someone who lived there before you.
its a myth that a property is blacklisted. credit checks go on the person not the property. u need to make sure you on voters roll and get a copy of your credit history.
It's a myth they say it's a myth. I was refused credit when I had a perfect record. Turns out they had my house listed wrong. They also had someone listed as living there who wasn't. That person had a very bad record.
well its kind of true and kind of not. If someone is listed as living at your house who has a bad credit rating then some companies will take this into consideration when anyone at that address wants to do business with them. This is actually personal experience. Both DH and I had excellent reports at experian but the electoral roll had ex tenants of ours still listed as living at the house who had a poor (diabolical actually) credit history. and this affected, not our credit rating, but the decisions made by some companies.
sadly some companies do blacklist certain postcodes without investigating anything about an individual's rating which could be affecting you too, although I think that this is less common now as companies need the business.
