back boiler query

We are looking at houses at the moment and come accross a house with the old gas back boiler in it, which Inahve no problem with but in the futher I would like to alter it is its asolid fuel fire BUT can a bas boiler run the heating and hot water, along side a solid fuel back boiler at all?

It can be done with a Dunsley type interfacing unit with various safety stats and a pump.It works out quite expensive.Save the cash for a decent gas boiler.I.M.O.

Don't run or connect up to any OLD back boiler. It's likely corroded anyway.
