I want to paint a frame, it is a gold leaf-distressed look at the moment and I want it a silver distressed look (not just a block of silver/grey colour, but a shiny silver). What colour undercoat (black?) and what colour silver paint should I use ? I want to be able to then sandpaper the corners to show the colour underneath (I don't want the gold to come through). Does that make sense ?? Thanks everyone.
