can anyone recommend a good hoover?did consider dyson but after out last one 8 yrs ago, no impressed. dont want an upright but a powerful one and easy to store.

I've had this one, for around 5 years - its a great vac, easy to clean filters etc.
They also do a lighter weight version I bought from Asda for £30 about 2 years ago, which I keep upstairs in my son's loft bedroom. I'll find a link for it.

So, you're possibly not thinking of buying a Hoover at all, but a Miele or Sebo or even a Dyson ? ;-)
I'm no expert. My Henry is ok, but, like them all, not quite as good a few years on as it was new, but I feel sure that's the same with all the brands. They're all brilliant straight out of the box but settle down after a few months or so.
