Hi

Whats the best value for money burglar alarm system for a house?

Also is it the type of product where you get what you pay for, as I cant really afford to splash out on the very best, just want an alarm that does the job.

THANKS

I have a wired system which I installed myself soon after moving to my current address around 10 years ago. It cost £40 from Argos – it does the job, but I would certainly not install such a system today. Back then, even the most basic wireless system would have cost well over £200. Now you can purchase a fairly good wireless system for around £100.
Although you can still buy cheaper wired systems – for the grief of wiring (and routing the wires) it is really not worth the saving.

Take a look at what is on offer on the web to see what will meet your needs.
The wireless Yale systems are ok .. in fact good for the money.
No one takes any notice of alarms.Even the best monitored systems have a response time...and then ...the bandits have gone.Invest in good locks on all doors and windows and good external lighting...oh and a big ugly dog!!
A large German Shepherd is usually enough to deter unwanted guests! Great loud bark as well!
