how often do they build a new nest,or do they stay in it forever,i have birds in my roof and they are making a racket, should i get someone to move them??????
Some types of bird return to old nests if they are still available, others build anew each season. If you have birds in your roof and they are nesting then it is a criminal offence to disturb them, interfere with, or remove the nest
We had many different birds nesting at my last house. House martins returned to old nests, Swallows, wrens and robins nested in the workshop/garage every year but I also got sparrows and starlings in the eaves. Every one of which wore large boots and like yours seemed to march up and down all night long. Noisy beggars!
I get Swift in my roof every year I LOVE them, they make a lot of noise upon their return, but soon settle down to sleep ahhh bless. I have had Swallows in my stables for years, they do ruturn to the nest but re-modernise each year. The lady up the road has had Blue Tits in her mail box for the last three years even though its low, right by the front door, in the sun, ALL the places it should'nt be, but they seem to love it ..................hey ho!!!!!!!!!!
