Wet floor after shower - what do I need?

Hi all, I have tried Googling a description of what I think I need but have had no luck. Briefly the problem is that when I shower in my level access shower which has a slight slope towards the drain, in spite of using the shower curtain, water spreads across the floor as far as the wall. I think if i coould get some rubber edging, like you sometimes see protecting cables across floors [to stop you tripping] in shops etc, it might help a lot. Can anybody think what I need to ask for? I've tried rubber 'edging' 'seal' & kerb, but have now run out of ideas. Thank you.

Many people with level access showers often complain of the same problem you are having. The shower curtain is obviously going to get wet and unless it sits inside the edge of the tray, and does'nt get disturbed, you will have water flowing around your floor.
These showers often have a small screens/door fitted. The bottom of which has a rubber seal which sits on the tray. This controls most of the water, and directs it back into the tray.

I would'nt bother trying to glue or fix something to the tray, because unless you can control the curtain, water will always escape over it..

is you room tanked? When my mum had a level access shower fitted, they tanked the whole room so it didn't matter where the water went

The shower doesn't actually have a tray, the drain just sits in the middle of the floor, the water just flows away [supposedly] to the drain, so I think i just need something placed on the floor to prevent the water flowing around. No, the room isn't tanked - it was a cheap job done by the council. Thanks for your help so far.

Mmm ........... sounds like a "wet room". If so, no tray or barrier should be needed. Water should just fall to the centre waste. Even the Council wouldn't fit a wetroom without proper waterproofing. It sounds as though the "falls" are not adequate.
On the other hand, if it's a wet room, then why is there a curtain?
I think I've confused myself again :o(

I suppose it's not tecnically a wet room, just a bathroom with no bath, a shower with no tray, and a curtain. I'll ask them to come back i think. Enjoy Easter. Thank you for taking the trouble to help me.

We have a shower room with the same setup and just keep one of those mops with the rollers to squeeze out the water in the room. I doesn't look that great but it dries the floor well. Have you considered having the shower head a bit higher so the water falls closer to vertical rather than at an angle?
P.S. Your council sound like a right shower. :)

I had the same problem in a hotel room recently. The shower curtain went down to about 100mm from the floor yet still water splashed almost right across the room, I couldn't believe how far it reached. I think I would be inclined to just lay a towel on the floor.
