we're out during the day so were talking two showers a day, powerful ones but not powershower btw. washing machine and toilets use recycled water. Bill for a quater £110-£165 does that seem steep I have to get a small reduction because of the recycled water I shouldn't pay all the surface run off fee within sewage. Does this seem high it is metered with south west water thanks

Mine's just gone up to £11 a month.............
mines 42 a quarter ....one person
Maybe the water boards are starting to cash in on all those meters installed by those who wanted others to pay more for a community water supply than they did? Seems a bit early though, they've surely not encouraged enough of the public to turn, to allow them to make metering compulsory yet. Surely they've not jumped the gun.

so you pay the same for a year as I pay for 3 months?
Mine's metered but only 1 person with Yorkshire Water.
i think mine's £13 a month

I an living in a so called eco house and my utility costs are £500 a quarter which is £166 66 a month, £2k a year
That is a huge amount, what_the, IMO. Since we had our water meter our water bills (fresh and drainage) total £17 a month on direct debit (and that's after it's just gone up). There are two of us, we bath and shower, washing machine, dishwasher, hose the garden now and again.
Are you sure you haven't got a leak? I had a leak before they put my meter in, I was losing three bathfuls of fresh water a day - that would have cost a bit.

I will check with the neighbour who has the same type of house what their bill is?
Heavens! We live in a definitely non-eco 3 bed 60s semi. Our combined gas and electricity bill is £59 pm, our total water/sewage/run off water charge is £440 per year.
All our washing goes in the tumble drier.
Now I know wher the saying comes from..It`s not easy being Green.
Hi, I'm not on a meter but I am with South West Water and I am paying £80 a month, so to me that doesn't sound high as it's less than I pay. Yes craft they are a bunch of theiving gits. Saw in the papers that it was going down this year and it still went up by about £6 a month.
Sounds very high. A friend had problems with high water bill, including usage when she was away for a week. It was discovered that the playgroup next door were attached to her meter.

blimey lol
There are many ways to cut down on water usage if you spend a few minutes to think about it, but you must work it out yourself.
Aye the incentive is now there not to use enough water for hygene and other needs. But don't worry, it won't affect your neighbours.
Ours is £11 a month non metered and was £12 a month metered at our last house. There are 2 of us.What..the? you're bill sounds really high to me.
My wife and I (both retired, so at home most of the day) are with Yorkshire Water. YW have estimated our water use over the next 12 months will cost us £362.62, which averages out at £90.65 a quarter. We have 1 shower each per day ( more in hot weather!), we have a washing machine (used most days), and that's it.
