Water bills for two people
26 Answers
we're out during the day so were talking two showers a day, powerful ones but not powershower btw. washing machine and toilets use recycled water. Bill for a quater £110-£165 does that seem steep I have to get a small reduction because of the recycled water I shouldn't pay all the surface run off fee within sewage. Does this seem high it is metered with south west water thanks

Seems a bit early though, they've surely not encouraged enough of the public to turn, to allow them to make metering compulsory yet. Surely they've not jumped the gun.
That is a huge amount, what_the, IMO. Since we had our water meter our water bills (fresh and drainage) total £17 a month on direct debit (and that's after it's just gone up). There are two of us, we bath and shower, washing machine, dishwasher, hose the garden now and again.
Are you sure you haven't got a leak? I had a leak before they put my meter in, I was losing three bathfuls of fresh water a day - that would have cost a bit.

My wife and I (both retired, so at home most of the day) are with Yorkshire Water. YW have estimated our water use over the next 12 months will cost us £362.62, which averages out at £90.65 a quarter. We have 1 shower each per day ( more in hot weather!), we have a washing machine (used most days), and that's it.
