Setting off Store Alarms
Wasn't quite sure where to put this!
I've noticed that quite often lately I'm setting off door security alarms in some stores, sometimes going in in addition to coming out.
I can't work out why. I only have normal cards (bank etc...) in my bag, no pass or anything like that. I have a rape alarm but that's just battery operated.
It's a bit strange (and annoying!).
Any ideas gratefully received!

Also, sometimes there are narrow adhesive security labels on products which can set the alarms off, staff on tills may not be able to remove them via the detaggers.

I once bought a pair of trousers in Marks and Sparks. They were bagged up by the cashier and unbeknown to me they had one of the large plastic security tags attached. I took the trousers home (without setting off any alarm on my way out of the store).
I realised when I got home that the trousers were unusable as they were and took them back to the store to have the tag removed (without setting off the alarm on my way in). Having been looked at as if I was a thief (of course I would have taken the troosers back to the shop if I had nicked them, wouldn’t I?) I was asked to produce my receipt. Still being treated with suspicion the tag was grudgingly removed without ceremony and certainly without any apology.
On the way out of the store with my now tag-free kecks the f***ing alarm went off. My remarks to the security guard (who did not seek me out but whom I went back into the store to find) are not repeatable in a family magazine such as AB.

Had a panic moment then Scotman in case I had haha :)
Ahhh iphone it could be then! One of the security guards in Tesco just waves me through now! I find that meat products have only recently got security labels and they often aren't taken off but it happens regardless.
I had similar New Judge with a skirt from Monsoon, I didn't even realise until I wore it for the first time at a wedding and wondered what it was banging against my leg! I couldn't face taking it back in case they thought I'd stolen it! I think I'd lost my receipt too as there was a gap between buying and wearing as it was for a wedding and I'd never noticed when trying it on.
Hope it isn't underwires haha, bit stuffed if that's the case as there is no way they're going to hold themselves up! :)

I went to Lakeside Shopping Centre a couple of years back, practically every shop I walked in caused the alarm to go off. After a frustrating shopping trip having bags searched etc, I got home, took my shoes off and found that one of those self adhesive alarm tags had got stuck to the bottom of my shoe.
