A VERY SERIOUS POST..please check the model of your fridge freezer..

beko have announced that some models of their frost free fridge freezers have a faulty defrost timer and can fail and overheat and cause a fire the list of model numbers is on their website..

I heaard that on the 6 o'clock news this morning - there have been 20 fires so far - the last one in Bermondsey in London on Sunday I think - serious business indeed

painterman my fridge freezer is 1 of the models listed,i have been trying to get through to their freephone number all morning but to no avail..i need to know,as many thousands of others do of course,is it safe to use???

If you have freezer and/or home insurance it's important to find out if a claim would be met now you know there is an inherent risk of fire. I understand that Beko are arranging for engineers to replace all timers on affected models.

Oh god I've got a Beko.

I was warned about buying a Beko from my friend who reckoned they were no good. Seems like she was right. I am frantically trying to find the webpage.

dont forget to check the serial numbers as well mine is 1 of the models but the serial number does not match the affected model thank goodness..great post chuck thank you...

Mine is also in the list of affected models, this is very scary ! Yet we are told to keep it on and use as normal - normal ? With a risk of fire ?? Scared to leave the house now in case it causes a fire....

My insurers will not pay out on a known faulty appliance, I have just rang them to see where i stand, as I am going away shortly I am obviously worried to leave the ff on while I am not at home...my insurers will not pay out for loss of food, so there is a claim to be made from BEKO now...great...

Hi, can somebody help, my friend also has a Beko fridge/freezer but has lost her paperwork for it. Where can she find the number of the fridge????
