stamp duty

hi my husband swears he's heard something recently about stamp duty thresholds being changed. We are looking to move and have seen a house for £270000 (above the 2nd stamp duty threshold) Is he right that things might change?

That was introduced in last year's budget with a threshold of £250,000; the results of a review are due for publication in the autumn.
There are no other changes to SDLT thresholds, so only first-time buyers might be affected by any change which will come from the ongoing review.
