moss on the roof
14 Answers
We have a lot of moss growing on our bungalow roof. How do I get rid of it? Our neighbours have the same bungalow as ours - but their roof is lovely and clean - although they dont clean it or anything.
Why do we have moss - and what should I do about it. Thanks

Further to Clanad's answer...A traditional UK way to prevent roof moss is to run a bare copper wire along each side of the roof ridge. Rain causes minute amounts of copper sulphate to run down the roof and keep it moss-free. There's also more expensive copper roof ridging that'll do the same job...

Neither of these methods will remove established moss. This has to be done by scraping or brushing, never by using a pressure washer.
