Where's the best place to get a cheap but quality freezer as I never seem to have enough room in mine and sometimes can't buy everything I need in one go so decided to buy a chest freezer, any advice?

However, there are two chest freezers in your price-range which did OK - but no reliability data available, therefore Which? didn't make them Best Buys. The Proline PLC 105 at £130 from Comet and the Norfrost C2AEW at £115 from Dixons and Currys. If you want something a little bigger Homebase has another Norfrost at £145. Hope this helps - sorry I can't link you to the Which? webpages - info. only available to subscribers I'm informed!
Go to the public library and ask them for copies of the Which magazine. Find the latest issue which covers Freezers. The Consumers Association tests things for efficiency, value for money, durability, etc, and makes a best-buy recommendation. They will probably also calculate running costs, so you will be able to tell which ones are greenest ( most heavily insulated ) The uprights are VERY wasteful of energy, as almost all the cold falls out everytime you open the door. I went from an upright which cost me fifty pence per day - yes 50p - to run, to a chest-freezer which cost me about 2p per day to run. It is AEG.
The only advice I can give you here is think big; get the biggest model you can afford and then you will not be disappointed. I would also advise getting a top brand name as they should last longer, if that is not stating the obvious.
You also have to invite us all round for a freezer warming party when you have made your purchase!

I have a tall frost free fridge/freezer, it took me ages to choose it because there seemed to be too much freezer and not enough fridge space in a lot of them, eventually got a LG. About equal in terms of fridge and freezer space. Measure the height and width for your kitchen space first. I got it from Comet.
