driving licence expiry date..only 8 years!!
i have just noticed that my driving licence states that it is only valid for 8 years
what happens then? i thought your licence was valid indefinitely...or is it just i have to get a new photocard?

The photo used for a photocard licence must be renewed every 10 years. If you supplied a photo for your provisional licence which was automatically transferred to your full licence the expiry date for the photo will be shorter than the ten year anniversary of the full licence.
