I want to grow some wild garlic for cooking.Afriend gave me some plants, but the flowers are yellow as I only know wild garlic to have white flowers is it the same and can it be used in cookery
I don't know if the yellow flowered can be used the same as the white (probably not), but whatever you do, don't knowingly plant the white flowered in your garden as you will live to regret it! Someone in my village brought some back from Scotland some years ago and now the whole village, including my garden, is covered in the stuff. Pick it out the hedgerows when you want some but for heavens sake don't plant any!
I suspect that the yellow coloured plant is a cultivated variety of the Alium (garlic) family. Garlic is easy to crow from cloves. Break up a bulb and plant the individula cloves.
