Hi, a friend is giving away a bed that is perfect for my son for when he is ready to move from cot to bed. The problem is that I live 150 miles from my friend and I.don't know how I could get it from hers to mine. It is a single divan on caster wheels, with single mattress and head board. Do couriers such as dhl collect and deliver items this big or can anyone recommend a company I could use. Many thanks.

Companies will deliever anything, for a price.
If it comes to pieces it should fit in large estate or small van.
Trouble is 150 miles is quite a way to get somebody to deliver it to you, probably cost you more than the bed is worth.
try this courier http://www.shiply.com/
I think it will cost more than the bed would be worth. It certainly wouldnt go with a normal parcel courier as it would be too large.
The big courier companies will be very expensive, if they will take anything that size at all.

There is a web site where you can list what you want delivered, and independent couriers will bid for the delivery: www.shiply.com

You have to add up if it is worth the cost of a courier though, as you can buy a decent single divan bed for around £100.
