thanks Doc but how good are those little machines you can get from BQ ?the oh says its a waste of time clearly mustbe as noone else seems to have given ot a whirl....better creep back to me basket!
One issue is that one has to dry the brickette right out. Need some decent sunshine to do that - which rules out any such useful production north of about Paris.
we tried it for the chiminea in the summer, it was a load of faff and didn't work very well, the briquette maker wasn't that efficient - and a) we haven't got a fireplace in the house and b) I only buy about 4 newspapers every week.
I would if I bought newspapers. They have now got so expensive a single brickett can't be cheap to make! It's probably just as economical to burn regular fuel or wood.
If one reads the bark of the logs in place of the Daily Mail, it not only saves the hassle of brickette production but the information on the log bark is a trifle more believable than the DM.
