Ihear people constantly complaining about S S and I can`t understand why,as since I contacted Pallitive Care about my impending doom due to big c in the prostate, I have been helped in the most wonderful ways, firstly a wheelchair was delivered so that I didn`t have to walk about 50yds to my car, then as my house has only one upstairs loo and bathroom, two portable loo`s were installed, then an electric bed which I operate for the most comfortable position, Two adjustable walking sticks, two zimmer`s, one for use upstairs and the other for down, a free standing frame around the toilet to aid getting up/down, and before Christmas, a completely new walk--in bathroom and toilet. Isn`t our country wonderful, as all you got to do is prove you`re dying. Ahh well....I bet the world will end before then. G`night.
Mornin Lofty & Boxtops. Hey, I forgot something which first started the ball rolling, a Stair Lift, will be put in by Xmas. YabaDabba dooooooo! No more huffin & puffin.
Although I was diagnosed in 2003, with having P/C it was a doctor whom I saw when my Sciatica was giving me hell, suggested a `Stair-lift` may be worth enquiring about,.... bless him. My grandchildren will visit me more often when it`s installed, I`ll bet.
This is the good side of Social Services - glad they have helped you Carlton you sound as if you really deserve it, bless you for staying so cheerful. Not so sure about the other side of the coin, a family I know well had a really bad experience (wrongly I hasten to add) with SS .......... but got to look at both sides I suppose. All the best Carlton, God bless.
Blow me down, to-day they even delivered two metal walking sticks with comfortable shaped handgrips as they noticed I was using some old sticks. I can`t get over it, so I hope some of you Silver Surfers get into contact with them, and get help with some of your day to day requirments. I also have a medical thingy that should I fall and knock myself out, an alarm is sent to them and they contact the medics.
