Woodframed & Brick query.
I would like to insulate my house walls but am informed I am unable to because the house is `wood framed`. Why is this and please explain the difference please?

Jumping ahead of an anticipated answer to The Builder's question, if what you have is a modern timberframed property with a brick or block outer skin (and a 50mm cavity between the 2) what you cannot do is to have insulating foam squirted into that cavity.
This type of property is insulated in a different way - by putting either Rockwool batts or Celotex into the studs of the timberframe from the inside.
