I bought this beautiful cream-colour curtains that are really nice. However, after putting them up, hubby said I'd have to bring them down and swap them as they are letting too much light in and he can't sleep! The baby too wakes up too early.Any ideas?

Is it wise to get a tailor to sew another darker lining on the back for me?

You can get blackout linings, and they're not all black!

You can also get blackout blinds, which are cream coloured

don't get them sewn in buy loose ones with their own tape and hang them separately

Just done a search for 'blackout lining' on Debenhams, and Argos sites.  Nothing came up.  On Argos, there were blackout blinds, but not linings.  I don't really want blinds.  Anyone know where I can get the linings from?
You can get them from Argos, I bought some last year.  We have an Argos 'Extra' by us, I don't know if that makes a difference.
I got mine in debenhams, I think that John Lewis sell them as well. Mine are actully insulated linings to keep the heat in in winter
Got ours in Roseby's curtain store

Definately the blackout curtain linings. Blackout blinds are another alternative, but I don't like the rattling around of the blind when it's windy outside and you want to have the window open.

The linings you attach them with little hooks onto the curtain tape on the top of the curtains. We have them in our bedroom,as we both work shifts and cannot stand bright light when trying to sleep. It really does make the room alot darker and they won't spoil the look of your lovely curtains.

Mine came from John Lewis, but I'm sure you can get them from many curtain and bedding shops.

You could try Dunelms for separate blackout linings.

Or have you thought about keeping the curtains & putting up black out roller blinds in front of them? They do some nice cream ones. Our daughter has them in her 'sunny' house & they work a treat on light mornings & evenings, when the children are in bed!

I got mine from Mostyns curtain shop for 20 (price varies depending on size) They hang using the same technique as curtains and just slot onto the bottom half of the curtain hook - soz if that doesn't make much sense but I'm not very good with curtains and alike!(and even I managed to hang them!)
