I have the ordinary round battery operated smoke alarms and the one in the spare room is behaving strangely. Between 8pm and 10pm for the last 2 evenings it has let off a single beep roughly each half an hour.

Quiet all day and all night.

What can that be all about?

Batteries need changing Maid :)

I will try that today - it just seemed strange that the beeping is at the same time of the evening and then stops. The little light is happily flashing away.
I would change the battery and see if that helps. I agree it is strange that it does not beep all day. What make and model is it?
I had one like that once, it was always the same one, never either of the other 2.
Be sure to change the batteries in the other(s) as well. I know it's a pain but that way you'll know they will all be needing changed at the same time (usually in 12 months)

Good thinking alba - about changing all batteries to keep in sync.

Not sure of the make Howard - had a look and no name is obvious.
What does the user guide say about low battery indication?
Question Author
Thats a thought Howard. I have to go to work now, but I'll look for the guide this evening and check it out. In the meantime I'll buy batteries and have them at the ready. Thanks.
