Possibly useful info about the avatar problem
15 Answers
I still only see the sabre-toothed squirrel avatar on both my profile and in my postings.
HOWEVER if I use the Tineye add-on in Firefox to search for that image by right clicking and choosing the 'Search Image on Tineye' option then, for the main picture in my profile, Tineye looks for my currently selected image in Gravatar whereas if I do the same for the avatar used for postings in threads Tineye looks for the image that was my previous selection in Gravatar. Both of those images are different from the squirrel picture.
Hope this info proves useful.

B00 - that Indiana Jones picture is what I currently have selected in Gravatar but on my computer the only avatar I see in AB is a picture of a squirrel that I had previous selected on Gravatar..
Using the Tineye add-on one can right click on any online image and Tineye will search other sites for where that image has been used and then displays a list of those sites. So if I do that with the avatar as I see it then I would expect Tineye to be searching for the squirrel pic but in practice it is searching for the Indiana Jones pic i.e. AB has received the info from Gravatar telling it what the current avatar should be but AB is choosing to display that previous avatar.

If Gravatar images are getting through to AB then it becomes obvious that there is a problem within AB.
No doubt the Ed has a theory on this one in the same way as he has a theory about the back arrow button and has posted......"I've got a new theory to try with the Techies. We'll see how it goes."
Perhaps the Ed should submit a question in the 'Technology Section'. Who knows there may be some Techie AB members who could give an explanation.
Give the Ed a chance!! :-)
