From personal experience which combi bolier would you recommend,
taking into consideration
Reliability,
Value for money
Safety
Economical to run.
My boiler is broken and I've had two plumbers round and one of them has recommended that I get a new Inter Gas boiler, and doesn't like Worcester-Bosch boilers. The other plumber said get a Worcester-Bosch boiler because they're really good and Inter Gas aren't any good. They both said Glow worm are no good. Please can I have your opinions, I'm so confused, and so cold.

Atmos ... Viessmann .. Valliant .. Worcester Bosch.
WB Greenstar CDi very popular, so parts/servicing commonplace.

Atmos/Viessmann probably best part quality tho. I'd have any of them.
We have a Vaillant about 4 years old, just brilliant, really efficient and I was told by a heating engineer that they were very good when he serviced it.
notafish, As usual, Albags is on the mark.
Previous to taking early retirement, I used to specify gas boilers for a large local authority. Following installations and monitoring of various boilers, Worcester Bosch ( WB ) always proved to be best.
Consequently, they were specified, providing the budget would allow it ( WB are one of the dearest boilers on the market ).
However, the Inter Gas boiler ( formerly Atmos boiler ), is attaining very good reports ( check various heating installer forums i.e. 'diynot.com' ).
Re your points of concern, Reliability : As these boilers are both top of the range, the reliability should be very good ( check the manufacturers guarantee, they tend to differ ). Value for money : as usual, you get what you pay for. ( you want the boiler to last at least ten years ). Safety : All boiler manufacturers must adhere to stringent tests regarding their appliances before they can be marketed. Your installer should ensure that the gas supply is safe, and commission the boiler. ( ensure your installer is 'GAS SAFE' registered. Economical to run : All new condensing boilers are much more economical than older standard boilers .
Some heating engineers tend to 'push' a certain boiler as they get a bigger discount from their supplier.
The choice between these two top of the range boilers in the end will be yours.
Hope this helps.
Worcester, Vaillant (NOT Valliant), Veissman in that order (from Which?)
Vokera, had one for 3 years,no bother at all.
Yesssss .. I know ..
I have a friend who is ex-Vaillant service engineer and then salesman. He usually goes along with my list.
I would be surprised if Which included Atmos products.

Thanks PL : )
Vokera definitely has limited life (sticking my neck out there)
However .. They are LOTS better than they used to be (ie. the pits)
One of the main problems of low cost gas boilers is always the flow rate temp .. bad in many.
i have a Worcester-Bosch and since this has been fitted my bills are cheaper and i believe at the moment they are doing either a 3 or 5 year warrenty if purchase this month.

Thank you everyone. Gingejbee, what do you mean, please "Worcester, Vaillant (NOT Valliant),".
How much would I expect to pay for a Worcester-Bosch bolier or an Inter-Gas boiler inc installation. If this helps. . . . I have 1x kitchen, 1x bathroom and 1x cloakroom. I have 12 radiators. Thank you all so much for your input.
We've just had a new boiler fitted (it's a Worcester Bosch Greenstar). It cost 2,180 (the other two quotes were for 2,900) - we are in Hereford if that makes any difference.
my dad is getting a Worcester-Bosch Greenstar 27CDi boiler fitted this month and he is paying just under £1,000 (including VAT) for the boiler.
Question Author
Can you tell me what model number it is, please. So if I get a quote for it, I'll know if it's roughly the right price. Thanks

Grant A, what area does your dad live in?
Sherrardk, can you tell me the model number please. Thank you
nota: that's the order of their recommendations. The other was the spelling - it's Vaillant.
this is a site that has prices on, this is the same boiler that my dad is getting and he has a four bedroom house.

GrantA, does the 1000 pounds pay for the installation as well, or just the boiler. It's a vast difference from Sherrardk's price.or is he getting help from a government scheme?
they live in stevenage, hertfordshire.
Hi Notafish, that was for installation too - the model number is Greenstar 24i/28i Junior- we didn't need a massively powerful boiler as the wood burner will (eventually) do the majority of our heating.
this is just for the boiler. The total price for boiler, installation and some other work is between £2,000 - £2,500.

When i had my boiler done a year ago, it costs me £2,000.
