I bought some of the above, a couple of months ago to put in my hanging baskets at the front. Don't normally bother in the winter, now I remember why -as this year the same thing has happened or more to the point hasn't happened. My pansies are green and lush, but are missing the flowers, does anyone know why I never get flowers on my winter pansies, is it too late to do anything about it, feeding them etc. Any advice greatly appreciated.
stop feeding them.... and let them get dry to the point of drooping slightly a couple of times if they are 'stressed' they will produce flowers with a view to setting seed... once flowering starts feed lightly with something like miracle gro or phostrogen and as slack alice said make sure they get enough light
Yes they are in the shade for quite a while, this must be the answer as I have most success with busy lizzies in the summer baskets because they are partly in shade. Thanks, I will make a mental note not to self to not buy any next year:)
next year coloured foliage plants like variegated ivy, ajuga, and those little rooted cuttings of berry bushes like skimmia... you might have more luck with primulas too
